Happy New year !

Since last year, Merethis has been focusing on an ambitious project: revamping Centreon and improving our products. In 2011 Merethis took a step forward and decided to fork Nagios and create Centreon Engine and Centreon Broker. Those two new projects are here to stay to strengthen Centreon especially improving its performance. Centreon Engine and Centreon Broker let us now go even further in software architecture, as they will evolve, new features will rise such as high availability and event management.

Centreon GUI is also ready to evolve. Users will soon be able to experiment the new “face” of Centreon, more ergonomic, more interactive and customizable. We are doing our best to bring you a new piece of software as easy to use as one can expect. GUI revamping is not all about display, we are currently working on brand new GUI to address specific needs and create tools such as a hypervisor, a dashboard and address metrology needs.

Centreon 2.2.1

This version brings a few bug fixes (c.f changelog). Note that a few of you ended up with a version which displays an incorrect version of your Centreon (RC2) although it was supposed to be 2.2.0 stable, this is fixed in Centreon 2.2.1. Also, we have received reports from some contributors who noticed important performance issues due to the graph engine Centstorage and this is fixed in 2.2.1 as well. Make sure to restart Centstorage after the upgrade.

This is therefore an important bugfix version which we advise you to upgrade into.

Centreon Community members, your opinion matters

Dear Community members,

You may have noticed that MERETHIS offers now regular news via the Websites Centreon and MERETHIS, seasonal newsletters, news on the Centreon blog and twits. Centreon is also available on several social networks.

We wished you to be able to share Centreon’s news the way you like it in English but also in French.

We adapt for several months our tools and messages to a growing community of users. We try to improve on a large number of subjects, such as the Forum. It is a tool important for the Community and we hope we can perfect the identification of the members of the team Centreon, their presence and also the quality of the referenced information.

Lately the developers had to focus on more development and less chat with the Community on the forum (apart from AkHeNaToN). They use more the forge because bugs are regularly provided there.

Centreon Map 3.1.0 released

Centreon Map is an advanced cartography tool that allows you to present Centreon indicators with easily-understood views. Thanks to the « drill-down » navigation, users can create personalised views with no restrictions on the death of the drill-down. The most important statuses for monitored components are displayed in real time through a variety of tailor-made views specific to the needs of each individual user : business, functional, technical, or topological focus as the case may be. Creating views is a simple task indeed using drag-an-drop techniques on the resources configured within Centreon. Views are automatically synchronised and updated with the data collected by Centreon and Nagios.

Centreon Map is now available in the version 3.1.0. This new version brings improvements on acknowledgement and downtime as well as partial compatibility with Centreon Broker.

We recommend you upgrade to this latest version of Centreon map.
