In the previous article of this series, we outlined some key monitoring enhancements that are now part of CES 3.2, including updates of the ISO file to make installation and configuration even easier.
In this short and final article, you’ll find out how simple and quick installing CES (Centreon Enterprise Server) can be. In fact, the installation procedure can take as little as an hour at no cost, especially if your storage infrastructure does not create bottlenecks for disk access. That means you can try and test it out for as long as you want.
Don’t believe us? Try it for yourself.
Instant monitoring in a few steps
One easy option is to download our ready-to-deploy virtual machine based on CES 3.2 from the Centreon website. Then, install it onto your virtualization infrastructure.
What if you wanted to install your choice of server for your production environment instead? No problem. Just retrieve the ISO file of CES 3.2 from the same download site and burn it onto a disk. Then, insert the disk into the disk reader of a server or link the image to a virtual reader.
Relevant Centreon documentation helps walk you through the short procedure, step by step, up until the first connection is made with the Centreon web interface. It also covers the necessary prerequisites in terms of volume and controls that you estimate are required.
A useful guide to check before jumping into installation is the architecture chapter of the CES documentation. It may inspire you in thinking of the different possibilities to address your monitoring needs. From time to time, our blog posts cover best integration practices that you may also find helpful.
Once installation is done, go to the configuration chapter to begin integrating the resources of your CES monitoring platform. To get a quick handle on it, we suggest taking a look at our blog article on “Putting in place your first monitoring solution” .
And that’s it. You’re all set to go! Do come back and tell us what your CES installation was like, and how its monitoring performance stacked up to your expectations.
