The concepts of groups (hostgroups, servicegroups, contactgroups) was previously defined in the “Bests Practices: How to use groups of objects in Centreon” article. We will not get back on these concepts.
A category is look like a group of objects but having the distinction of being used to filter a subset of elements and not to select objects. There are two types of categories: for the hosts and for the services.
