Back from Solutions Linux 2013

This post is also available in: French

From 28 to 29 May 2013, the Centreon community participated at Solutions Linux which took place for the second year at the CNIT Paris La Défense, in the associative village.

This year, many of us were on the stand and we had the pleasure to interact with users about Centreon and modules but also around the IT monitoring.

One of the main words of the show has been the “Cloud”.
How to protect your data, how the quality of service of its hosted applications … Many users of Centreon asked us the question : To get “Cloud” monitoring or hosted applications in the “Cloud “.

The answer is simple: the monitoring of hosted applications in the “Cloud” based mainly on the quality of service delivered to the user. A set of aggregated KPI will control the quality of service.
Regarding monitoring in the “Cloud”, this is very complex. If the user does not know where it comes to control, how could it be determined for a false positive and a real problem? The CIO must be a master at all times of the monitoring architecture.

I had the pleasure of attending the roundtable on Wednesday to meet the various questions concerning free automation in the data center. We were able to exchange ideas about process automation monitoring from CMDB as GLPI or other fleet management software via APIs. Indeed, the key word automation was the APIs to communicate to all the various Open Source tools.

Finally, we sincerely thank you for coming to see us, having come to exchange, share with us at the show and thank you especially to Eric Coquard (aka Kermith72), Raphael Troiano (aka RaphaelT), Charles Judith (aka CJudith ), Olivier Li-Kiang-Cheong (aka LKCO) and all others of course!

Find information about the show on the official website.

Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you in Brussels in early July at LSM 2013!
