Some news about forges

This post is also available in: French

Some of you already know it but we want to be transparent with you. We would like to modernize our community modules development platform. Our forge became old and as we are “open”, we decided to give you the opportunity (to you too, lambda user) to contribute more to our project but why not others as well. So, this is why all projects have been migrated on GitHub after that we contacted each contributor in order to notify this change.

Some projects less active and even dead for a long time have not been migrated but we remain at your disposal to provide the source code if necessary.

This migration is the first step in the migration of all our projects to Github. Indeed, we aim to migrate all of our projects to Github repositories during the first half of 2015. This change allow easier contributions and validation of the works by development team that is faster thanks to “pull-requests”. This will also give more visibility to projects also. You will notice that many of Centreon git repositories are synchronized on Github.

The challenge now is to move all existing projects to GitHub without any data loss. If you are interested in participating, you are very welcome.

The schedule begins to refine and to spend the next project on Github will Centreon-Plugins. We count on you to help us advance our plugin bundles. You can also soon, I hope, contribute to the discovery rules.

We remain at your disposal if you have any questions.

To find us on Github, it’s here and projects here.
